Driver over the limit will not drive again
A driver who drove out in front of an oncoming car was fined €250 by Judge Kevin Kilrane for careless driving.
Rovert Harlow of Mullaghcar, Ballymote admitted the offence which occurred at around 7.45am on June 9 th last at Quarryfield/ Bunninadden crossroads.
Inspector Donal Sweeney said the defendant failed to see an oncoming car.
At the same court, Liam Scott of Hilltop, Culleens was fined €100 for travelling at 77kph in a 60kph zone at Rathglass on October 13th last.
Andrew Ellis, Main Street, Collooney was fined €100 and banned from driving for one year for drunk driving at Station Road, Ballisodare on February 18th 2015. A sample showed a reading of 42mgs of alcohol per 100mls of breath..
Mr Stanley Harte, solicitor (defending), said Ellis (55) had a severe medical condition and had driven since the incident over three years ago.
“He won’t drive again,” said Mr Harte.
