Killoran graveyard ‘inaccessible’

Locals are hoping to set up a working group to maintain an historic graveyard in Killoran.

Cllr Dara Mulvey has called on Sligo County Council heritage office to attend a meeting with Coolaney residents with the purpose of setting up a working group so as to maintain the historic old graveyard at Carrownagleragh Killoran Coolaney which also has a medieval church located in its grounds but is almost inaccessible due to overgrown vegetation.

The purpose of this proposed meeting is to work in partnership with the local community group as to the on going maintenance and to make the cemetery accessible for the general public wishing to visit this historic site and especially for those who’s families are interred there.
