Sligo fire service is the fastest in the country:

Sligo Fire Ser vice recorded on average, the quickest response times to both fire and non-fire based emergencies in the countr y.

According to the l atest National Oversight and Audit Commission report, the Sligo based ser vice took just 4.26 minutes to respond to calls.

Likewise it s mobilisation times for non-fire emergencies was on average, only si x seconds slower and also the fastest in the countr y.

Sligo county councillors issued unanimous congratulations to the members of the fire ser vice.

Independent Councillor Declan Bree said the people of County Sligo ha d “ever y reason to be proud of them”.

“These people are a credit to Sligo, the council and to the ser vice”, he said.
