He was found to be in possession of a small packet of white powder and he then ran off but was stopped subsequently by Garda Mark Irwin at Stephen Street. A second packet was found on him. He didn’t take responsibility for the ecstasy and was very abusive to Garda Dolan threatening to burn his house down. He also claimed the drugs had been planted on him. Neary told the court he had ran out of panic. He apologised to the Gardaí and had cut down on his drinking.

Judge Kilrane adjourned the case for monitoring to December 20 th and to also to allow the defendant make a payment of €400 to a charity. He would then leave him without a conviction.
