Two ‘Beach friendly’ wheelchairs for Sligo

TWO new specially adapted beach wheelchairs will be made available on Sligo beaches in the coming weeks.

Sligo County Council have confirmed that two such ‘ beach friendly’ chairs with larger wheels have been purchased in the county, one by the council themselves and one by Sligo Sports and Recreation Partnership.

One of the wheelchairs will be made available for use on Enniscrone beach in July and August, while the location of the second chair is yet to be decided.

Director of Services Tom Kilfeather did confirm however that Rosses Point beach will not be considered due to its steep ramp.
