Leitrim Cycling Festival takes place this weekend

THE Leitrim Cycling Festival takes place across the coming weekend, from June 22nd to 24th in both Manorhamil­ton and Dromahair. The festival celebrates the locality for its wonderful cycling routes, bringing people together to learn about the future of cycling in the area and to build a community that can be involved in developing the area and to have some fun.

It’s lining up to be a great weekend of festival fun with cycling, art, music, food and camping. On Friday at 8pm, in the Glens Centre, Manorhamil­ton, enjoy an evening of cycling adventure tales with two speakers, adventurer William Bennett and travel writer Mary Russell.

On Saturday, at the Castle Café, Manorhamil­ton, from 10am, there will be a leisurely cycle, heritage walk, cycling picnic, bicycle tyre printing, music and much more. From 3pm, there will be a scenic 25km cycle to Dromahair, pack your camping gear to stay in Dromahair town.

While on Sunday, the Great Greenway Cycling Circus Carnival is coming to Dromahair.

There will be a parade of cycles, the unveiling of the ‘Gluais Linn’ trishaw, slow bicycle race, circus fancy dress and loads more fun for all the family.
