Benbulben FC’s U9s take part in blitz as successful season draws to a close
AS the season drew to an end recently, there was much to look back on with pride at Benbulben FC.
The club’s U16 boys won the Division 1 Cup final when they defeated Inishcrone/Kilglass 5-3 in the decider.
The U9s played their last blitz on Sunday the 10th of June against Strandane.
The Benbulben lads were put up to it on the day from teams that train twice a week and play a game every week all year around and are in second position in their league.
The Benbulben lads didn’t lets their club down, they played out of their skin and won a good few drew a few and lost a few, overall it was a great experience for them and will only gain from it. The club said: “Well done lads.”
The coaches Keith, Ray, Kieran, Kelly, Chris and Tony would like to thank the parents who helped out on the day in the kitchen and cleaning up after and to everyone who helped clear the pitch after the blitz and for all the running and racing throughout the season from going to training on a Thursday evening to all the Blitzes they had to travel too.
