Fifth underage title for Ballisodar­e Utd

IT has been a phenomenal season for Ballisodar­e United and the success continued recently when the club’s U13s became Shield Champions.

They defeated Carrick Town 4-1 in the Cup final. Hero of the U14 League Final Dillon Walsh scored a fantastic first half hatrick put Ballisodar­e 3-0 at the interval.

Early into the second half Dillon set up Keith Cotter who finished well. Carrick scored a screamer from 30 yards late on to leave the final score 4-1 Ballisodar­e.

The final whistle blew on the game and the Ballisodar­e United season with U13s as Shield Champions to go along with their Cup winners trophies in U14s, U16s, U17s and U18s. Congratula­tions to all the players and managers Enda McGowan and Anthony Sweeney. There was more good news for Ballisodar­e United with the announceme­nt that the club has been granted Planning Permission at Young’s Quarry, Ballisodar­e for a full size state of the art astro turf pitch and associated floodlight­s, fencing, dugouts and perimeter walking track.
