PEGGIE MEEHAN R.I.P.

The death took place of Margaret (Peggie) Meehan (née Harte), Mounttown, Geevagh, peacefully, after a short illness, on Thursday, May 31, at Sligo University Hospital. The late Mrs Meehan, who was predecease­d by her husband Paddy in 1996, was a highly regarded member of the local community.

Removal took place from Shivnan’s Funeral Home, Ballyfarno­n, on Saturday, June 1, to St Joseph’s Church, Geevagh, where a guard of honour was formed by the Geevagh Branch of the ICA Funeral Mass took place on Sunday, June 2, followed by burial in Ballindoon Cemetery. Chief celebrants were parish priest Fr Laurence Cullen, and Fr Brian Conlon.

The late Mrs Meehan is survived by her daughter Marie (Corrigeenr­oe); sons Michael (Naas), Tommy (Sooey), Pat (Sligo), Walter (Dublin), Paschal (Ashbourne); son-in-law Tom (Cooney); daughters-in-law Sheila, Bernie, Breege, Bríd; brothers Michael Joe (USA) and Walter (Dublin), sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nephews, nieces, grandchild­ren Ian, Aoife, Aisling, Tomás, Seán, Thomas, Claire, Lorraine, Michael, Sarah, Orla, Danielle, Mairead, Patrick, Céira, Donal and Steven; great-grandchild­ren Oisín, Ava, Amélie, Lily, Eoin, Cara, Conor, Seán and Jaxon, neighbours and friends. May she rest in peace.
