LIBRARY CREATIVITY

-

SLIGO’S libraries came alive this weekend as children from across the county were invited to take part in Cruinniu na nÓg on Friday and Saturday.

Events were free all weekend, with plenty happening in Sligo Central Library, Ballymote, Tubbercurry and Enniscrone.

A huge crowd gathered at Sligo Central Library for the weekend’s events, with an art workshop from Wayne O’Connor kicking off events.

Author Alan Nolan delighted the children with his reading, before participants enjoyed numerous workshops including theatre and music on both Friday and Saturday.

Cruinniú na nÓg celebrates and encourages children and young people’s participation in culture and creativity through performance, coding, theatre, art and music workshops, readings, screenings, special events and much more.

Events are free, local and activity-based. It’s a day for ‘doing’, ‘making’ and ‘creating’!
