Riverstown schools in shared project

-

TAUNAGH N.S. and Ardkeeran N.S., two local schools in Riverstown, embarked on an exciting project this year entitled ‘We Do Robotics’.

Their project was funded by Peace IV and focused on shared education where children from the two schools worked together throughout the course of the year.

In small groups, the children created Lego robots and used the iPads to program them to move.

The groups also filmed some green screen videos to transport their Lego creations to new and exotic places.

To conclude their project, the children went on a joint school tour to W5 and Titanic Belfast. From taking part in the project, the children had the opportunity to learn new skills and make new friends.

It was a wonderful experience for all involved and enabled the children to get to know their peers in their community. Both schools are looking forward to continuing the shared education project in the coming year.
