Shouting at his parents outside home late at night

A 26-year-old man was arrested by Gardaí who found him shouting abuse at his parents outside their home.

Before Sligo District Court last Thursday was Kyle Nealon with an address of 114 Rathbraugh­an Park who was charged with engaging in threatenin­g, abusive or insulting behaviour and with being intoxicate­d at Rathbraugh­an Park on July 31st 2017.

Inspector Donal Sweeney told Judge Kevin Kilrane that Gardaí were called to Rathbraugh­an Park at 10.40pm and found the defendant in the street shouting obscenitie­s at his parents.

The defendant was arrested and injured himself in the rear of the patrol car while being taken to the Garda Station.

He was then taken to Sligo Reguional Hospital. Nealon had previous conviction­s under the Public Order Act.

Mr Tom MacSharry, solicitor (defending) pleaded that the defendant had left Sligo, was in a new relationsh­ip. He was the father of three children including a three week old baby.

Judge Kilrane adjourned the case to December 20 th for monitoring.
