Henry praises team spirit

-

SLIGO ladies manager Paddy Henry praised his young team’s performance over a more experienced Roscommon. “Overall the best team won today we have no begrudges about that.

“I think after the first 10 minutes we were a foot on top of them and then once they got the goal they woke up into another gear. Our team is very young and a bit inexperienced, we had 5 or 6 minors on but look it, it is the start of a new future for Sligo.”

Having lost so many players since last year there had to be a lot of rebuilding done.

The Tourlestrane man said: “We lost a lot through injuries, people away and retiring but we worked hard and we got 27 back again. So it is a team building operation now.

“We are still in the competition, we go in the back door now and we don’t know yet who we are playing but I think it is in a fortnight’s time. We will have to prepare now for that and see what happens,” Paddy added.
