RECENT DEATH

The death has taken place in Manchester on June 12 of Rita Joyce née Tansey a native of Cuilmore, Gurteen. Predecease­d by her brother Brian she is survived by her brother Paddy Tansey, Cuilmore, and sisters Phil Walsh, Doon, Elizabeth McDonagh, Cloontia, Nancy and Bernie, Sligo, and Laura, Manchester to whom deepest sympathy is extended. May she rest in peace.

ORDINATION ANNIVERSAR­Y

Congratula­tions and well done to parish priest Fr Joe Caulfield Gurteen on the 40th anniversar­y of his Ordination to the Priesthood on June 18 He was ordained by the late Bishop Thomas Flynn on Sunday, June 18, 1978.

CD LAUNCH

A celebratio­n of the music of Andy Davey (RIP) well known fiddle player and the launch of his archive CD. will be held in the Coleman Music Centre, Gurteen on this Wednesday night, June 27, at 8.30 p.m. – admission is free. CEMETERY MASSES

The annual Mass in Templerona­n Cemetery will be on Sunday, August 5, at 1 p.m. and the annual Mass in Killaraght Old Cemetery will be on August 12 at 1 p.m.

Bingo is held every Friday night in Gurteen Hall at 8.30 p.m. The jackpot is now €2,600 on 47 calls – lotto raffle €600- and good prizemoney – all proceeds are shared between Eastern Harps GAA Club and the hall committee for the upkeep of the hall.
