Temple House features on RTE show

-

THREE of Ireland’s top chefs -Derry Clarke, Catherine Fulvio and Paul Flynn -- gather at opulent country houses to re-create banquets from the past.

Ballymote’s Temple House was featured on Lords and Ladles last Sunday night.

The menu dated from 1665 which is the year that George Perceval arrived in Co Sligo.

He married Mary Crofton who lived at Temple House.

Just the thirteen courses using surprisingly exotic and fun ingredients were served to the chefs and these dishes ranged from some familiar dishes to the quite bizarre.

Temple House is now taking reservations on Fridays and Saturdays for dinner to non-residents.

“The Lords and Ladles menu was weird and wonderful”, says Helena Perceval.

“Our normal menu is wonderful, not weird!”
