Sentencing dates for men on child porn charges
TWO men who have pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography in separate unconnected cases have had their sentencing dates fixed.
Both men have been remanded on bail for sentencing at the same court before Judge Keenan Johnson.
Conor Moyles (25) of Linnet Lane, Kevinsfort, Sligo admitted at a previous sitting of the Circuit Court to having eight images and 66 video files on a pc and laptop on January 24 th 2012.
He also pleaded guilty to a second count committed on January 28th 2012.
The accused was represented by Michael Bowman SC with Mr Keith O’Grady BL instructed by Mr Gerard McGovern, solicitor.
Last week, Judge Johnson fixed the case for sentencing at a sitting of Sligo Circuit Court on November 6 th next.
Also before the Circuit Court was Timothy Laffey (33) of Mullaghmore Road, Cliffoney who pleaded guilty possessing 41 images of child pornography on a laptop and 213 images on a hardrive at his home address on September 24 th 2010.
He was also represented by Mr Michael Bowman SC and Mr Gerard McGovern, solicitor.
Judge Johnson fixed sentencing for July 24 th next at Mullingar Circuit Court.
Both men were remanded on continuing bail.
