Annual draw breaks previous records

-

THE Sligo Rovers Annual Draw generated €64,000 of sales this year- a record for the club’s fundraiser - as Bit O’ Red fans purchased 6,400 x €10 tickets.

With a top prize of €5,000, won by Raymond Sweeney of Enniscrone, and all other prizes sponsored, it means €59,000 has been contributed to the running of the club.

Chairman Martin Heraghty said: “I want to congratulate the draw organiser Mark Cummins, Sandra Healy who is part of our admin staff, and the teams of ticket sellers that travelled around the region.

“The volunteer teams received a warm welcome travelling door-to-door and many committee and volunteers sold book upon book to take it to the huge total.

“The funds will help the club during a summer where there will be little in the way of gate receipts.”
