WELLBEING OPEN DAY

The Wellbeing open day in Kilglass House, Walled Garden and Woodland will take place on Saturday, July 14 from midday to 3 p.m. A celebratio­n of the positive things in life: homeopathy, acupunctur­e, yoga, wellbeing, reflexolog­y, pilates, ancient Chinese massage, Rinka for kids, woodland walks and fun games, organic veg growing and much more.

Come along and see the completed work in the garden – our Wall of Hope, Darkness to Light botanical project and our beehive project. Call 083 4461322 for more informatio­n. This event is run by Tireragh Community Support Ltd, Reconnect With Nature and Supported by Sligo County Council Community and Voluntary General Grants Scheme.

HERITAGE TRAIL

West Sligo Heritage Trail is a two-hour bus trip of West Sligo and takes place on Saturdays, in July and August. The tour will take you along the Wild Atlantic Way and include many Historical Sites of interest. Tour departs at 2 p.m. from the community centre in Easkey and returns at 4 p.m. for refreshmen­ts. PEIG O’ROURKE R.I.P.

The death has taken place of Peig (Margaret) O’Rourke, née Weir, Kilpedder, Wicklow and Forthland, Easkey. Sympathy is extended to her husband, sons and daughter, grandchild­ren, in laws, sisters Kaye and Barbara, brothers Johnny and Michael.

ARTS/CRAFTS EXHIBITION

An exhibition of arts and crafts will be held in Easkey Community Centre for July and August. Centre is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Weekends by appointmen­t only at 096 49020.

COMMUNITY GAMES

Congratula­tions to all the children from Dromore West/ Templeboy Community Games who represente­d the area at the County Finals in IT Sligo, they won ‘best turned out team of the day’ in the parade.

Congratula­tions to medal winners: Niall Gordon first under-10, Shauna Gavin second under-10 and Emma O’Brien second in the shot put, the under-12 skittles team of Chloe Burns, Amy Broderick, Abbie Rowlette, Megan Walsh, Sophie Burns and Emma Scott, who also won silver.

CEMETERY MASS

The annual cemetery Mass will be held in Roslea on Sunday, August 5, at 7 p.m.

VEHICLE DRIVE

A vehicle drive will take place on next Sunday, July 8, at 3 p.m. in support of Jonathon Higgins Go Fund Me. The drive will start in Easkey village and all vehicles welcome.

EASKEY COMMUNITY GAMES

Well done to Sarah Feeney from the Easkey Community Games area who won a bronze medal in the 800m at the county finals. The group came second in the best turned out team in the parade.

SUMMER CAMP

A fun summer camp will be held in Dromore West Community Centre from July 24 to July 26 for children ages six to 12 years. Free to attend. As spaces are lim- ited contact Enniscrone FRC at 096 37444 to book a place.

WATER SAFETY WEEK

Aughris Swim Safety and Rescue Water Safety week takes place Sunday, July 22, to Friday 27.

RÓISÍN MOYLES TALK

Róisín Moyles from West Sligo Family Resource Centre is attending the Community Council meeting in Skreen-Dromard Community Centre on July 10 at 9 p.m., to promote the work that the FRS do and how they can support children, families and community groups in the area. All club delegates and member of the public are asked to attend.

LOTTO

There was no winner of the jackpot in the Easkey lotto draw on June 22. Numbers drawn were 8, 23, 32 and 35. €25 winners: Alan Caffrey, Eileen Lynagh, Eamon O’Boyle. Maureen McGovern and Willie Brady. Promoter’s prize: Maureen Sloyan. Next jackpot €1,700 and the draw will take place at the bingo in the community centre at 8.30 on Friday night. The 50/50 draw envelopes are now on sale in shops.
