U-14 Division 1 result: Owenmore Gaels 2-18 Coolera/Strandhill 5-9 THE lads drew with Coolera on Thursday evening when a win was required to qualify to the A Shield final. A strong from the start saw them rush into a 7 point lead but goals at crucial times for the opposition meant are lads often found themselves chasing the game. It was a good performance from the lads and sets them up nicely for the A championship in the coming weeks. The U12 and U11 boys travelled to Grange on Tuesday evening where they faced St Molaise Gaels. Unfortunately for the boys, they came up against very strong opposition and lost both games.

THE Owenmore Gaels U12 girls had their second championship outing of the season yesterday evening at home to Calry/St Joseph’s. With only ten players available for the match, it was always going to be a tough task but after trailing 10-3 at half time the girls gave it everything in the third quarter to claw the score back to 12-8 going into the final quarter. Unfortunately this extra effort took its toll on the girls and they just didn’t have the legs to match their spirit and desire in the final quarter. As a result the match ended in an 18-9 defeat. Plenty of positives to take from this outing though.

THE Minor boys get their B Championship campaign underway as they face Tubbercurry/Cloonacool in Connolly Park on Thursday evening. The lads will be hoping to bounce back after a disappointing league campaign. Throw in is at 7pm. Best of Luck.
