It has been some time since people were asked for subscripti­on to fund the Text Alerts, which are sent out by An Gardaí. At present there are 422 numbers in the network receiving texts. Funds have now depleted and so everyone is been asked to once again put €5 into an envelope with name and mobile number written on it. Envelopes can be left at the post office, Enniscrone; Milo’s, Enniscrone; or Muddy Burns shop, Corballa. New subscriber­s are welcome. An Gárda see this as important service in the area so please support it if you can.

COFFEE MORNING

Enniscrone Tourist Office and Craft Shop are having their annual tea coffee morning for Mayo Roscommon Hospice, on Friday, July 27, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. all welcome.

BLOTTO DRAW

There was no winner of the €3,000 jackpot when the draw took place in, Ocean Sands on Sunday last. Numbers drawn were 04, 05 and 10. €25 winners were Mary O’Brien, Mickey Bourke, Michael Coggins Snr John Dobson, and Ania Casey. The next draw will take place in the Hilltop, Culleens on Sunday, July 15. Jackpot is €3,200.

ENNISCRONE/KILGLASS GAA

Our intermedia­te team play their final game of their league campaign next Sunday at 1 p.m. away to Geevagh. Good luck lads.

The Enniscrone-Kilglass/Easkey under-16s take on Shamrock Gaels in the Division Two final tomorrow evening, Monday, July 9, at 8 p.m. in Tubbercurr­y. Best of luck to all of the players and management please support.

Our under-14s put in an encouragin­g second half display to defeat Easkey in last Thursdays Division Two shield quarter final, 7-11 to 4-9. They travel to Geevagh for the semi-final on Thursday evening at 7 p.m. where they meet Geevagh/St Michael’s that one has 7 p.m. throwin. Good luck lads.

Our under-12s host Curry on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. A win will send them through to the Division Two final.

County scene – Commiserat­ions to Michael Duffy, Gavin Duffy, Dara Rouse, Adam Mullaney and the Sligo minors on their loss to Roscommon last Friday evening. That ends Sligo’s interest in this year’s Connacht Championsh­ip.
