Well done to the musicians from Tireragh CCE who competed at the Connacht Fleadh held in Ballinamor­e, Co Leitrim on weekend, July 8. Congratula­tions to the Naomh Fearnáin Ceili Band 15-18 age group who got second place and qualified for the all-Ireland final and to the Ceoltoiri Tireragh Senior Grupa Cheoil, who were Connacht Champions.

MICHAEL CAWLEY SEVENS

The fourth annual Michael Cawley Sligo 7’s Memorial Blitz will take place on Saturday, July 21. Sligo Ladies’ football community will once again gather at Castleconn­or GAA pitch to remember a stalwart of ladies’ GAA Michael Cawley.

The Michael Cawley Sligo 7’s in aid of Croi, the West of Ireland Cardiac foundation is a blitz event for ladies’ Gaelic teams across Sligo and Mayo. The Cawley family would again like to express their sincere gratitude to Castleconn­or GAA club, Sligo ladies’ GAA and all those who helped out, participat­ed in and supported the blitz to date.

MOTORCYCLE RUN

A motorcycle run to Cork and back in aid of the Jonathon Higgins Go Fund Me will be held on Saturday, August 11. The motorcycle­s will leave Easkey at 8 a.m. and arrive back at the Castle Inn at 6 p.m. approximat­ely where there will be a barbecue, live bands and a raffle. SOCIAL DANCE

The July social dance will be held in Skreen-Dromard Community Centre on Saturday, July 28. Music for dancing will be provided by Frank Nelson.

WEST SLIGO HERITAGE TRAIL

West Sligo Heritage Trail is a 2-hour or full day bus trip of Sligo/Mayo and takes place on Saturdays, in July and August. On Saturday, July 21, there’s a trip to Hennigan’s Heritage Centre, Foxford Woollen Mills and Horkan’s Garden Centre. Bus departs Easkey Community Centre at 10 a.m..Booking is essential at 09649020 or email easkeyhous­e@yahoo.com.

ARTS/CRAFTS EXHIBITION

An exhibition of arts and crafts will be held in Easkey Community Centre for July and August. Centre is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Thursday. Weekends by appointmen­t only at 096 49020 or 087 6186866.

ROSLEA CEMETERY MASS

The annual cemetery Mass will be held in Roslea on Sunday, August 5, at 7 p.m.

There was no winner of the jackpot in the Easkey lotto draw on July 6. Numbers drawn were 6, 10, 17 and 19. €25 winners: Ann Cull, E Lynagh, Roseanne McGowan, Fionnuala Kenny and Gertie Mahon Promoter’s prize: Dromore West PO Next jackpot €1,900 and the draw will take place at the bingo in the community centre at 8.30 on Friday night.
