O’ROURKE UNCOVERED

On Bank Holiday Monday, August 6, at 2 p.m., the recently erected informatio­n plaque, at the foot of O’Rourke’s Table, will be officially unveiled.

Following the unveiling, those who wish to ascend O’Rourke’s Table will have the opportunit­y to do so and, subject to the weather, will be entertaine­d by a display of sean nós Dancing, by Edwina Guckian and friends, atop O’Rourke’s Table at 3 p.m.

Following that there will be a social gathering with refreshmen­ts at Newtownman­or Hall at 4 p.m. All are welcome and anyone who wishes to bring a musical instrument and make music is more than welcome. Do not miss out, be there.

WORLD MEETING OF FAMILIES

A group booking for 52 people has been made by the parish, for individual­s who are interested in attending the Papal Mass in the Phoenix Park, on Sunday, August 26. Anyone, who wishes to attend the Papal Mass by means of the chartered bus, at a cost of euro 15 per person, please contact Anne Dolan on Mob: 086 2242828, as soon as possible. There are now only 30 places still available.

BINGO

Bingo continues each Monday in the function room of the Blue Devon, Dromahair at 9 p.m. For those of you who are not regulars, it is a great social occasion, as well a fun opportunit­y to experience the thrill and frustratio­n of getting/not getting the numbers you need. All lines €30, except games 5 and 10, which are €50, all full houses €100 and last game €200. So why not come along and support your local bingo. Who knows you might be lucky.
