Car park works will attract more visitors to Sligo says Casserly

-

THE refurbishment of Wine St car park will attract more visitors to Sligo, according to Councillor Marie Casserly.

“These improvements will attract more people to come and visit and shop in Sligo and it will make it easier for wheelchair users, shoppers, pedestrians and parents pushing buggies to use the car park and access the town,” she said.

She also welcomed the increase to 11 in disabled parking spaces. “There is a new pedestrian walkway from Johnson’s Court to Tesco arcade and Penneys. The surface and drainage is hugely improved and the parking spaces are wider with diagonal parking layout that allows for easier entry and exit. There will also be new signs indicating free parking on Sundays. Thanks to Brian Flynn and roads dept Sligo Co Co for this work and thanks to Dee Gillan who has been advocating for people with disabilities and the improvement of facilities for those with disabilities in Sligo.,” she said.
