‘Are we all just being bullied?’ asks Mary

- Madam Editor, Yours Faithfully Mary Kelly-White, Collooney.

The English Man who is afraid to display his country’s flag is not the only one who is being bullied psychologically.

90% of Irish people are bullied. Catholics have been bullied into silence/ no statues/ no processions/ no religion in the schools or homes, so no vocations. Same with politics- more bullying.

Who has the freedom of mind to declare openly what party they support?

Even here if I write that I totally support Fine Gael, the editor might decide that I can’t say that because he can’t advertise one party over another.

No politics, no religion in conversations because it causes conflict, so we are bullied into silence and now we know nothing about either.

We are allowing ourselves to be bullied into a Third World, even a Fourth World.

We are intelligent, well educated, technologically advanced people BUT bullied by peers and leaders who don’t even realise that they are bullies.

If I were the Pope, I would encourage the Church to stand up to the bullies, profess God, the Saints, the rules- The Ten Commandments, of the Catholic religion. Can I say “Is feidir linn- We Can” or have we let ourselves be bullied out of our language too. It’s not a case of “Are you being Served?” It’s “Are you being Bullied?”
