Live music night added to Old Fair Day programme for 2018

-

A night of live music is one of the new additions to the programme for this year’s Old Fair Day Festival in Tubbercurry.

The festival opens on Saturday 4 th August with the return of the successful Teddy Bear Picnic in the Forest Walk hosted by Lollipop Lane Creche & Montessori. This is followed by a free concert on the square with Declan Nerney & band, supported by UNOWHO.

There will be a family fun day on the Sunday, with a road race on Monday August 5 th, the treasure hunt on the Tuesday and of course the Old Fair Day on Wednesday, August 8th.

Along with his multi-talented band, Declan Nerney will provide his usual vibrant, exciting dance programme that is calculated to keep the floor full when he comes to Tubbercurry for the event on the Saturday.

He may have racked up over a quarter of a century in the entertainment sphere but Declan’s enthusiasm for his role is still as infectious as ever.

UNOWHO, based in the West of Ireland, consists of six musicians and vocalists brought together to form a group rooted in rock but with one foot held firmly outside the box. With a diverse range of vocals, instruments and styles, UNOWHO boasts the unique ability to perform most music genres from Pop, Rock, Indie, Soul, Rhythm and Blues, Folk, Alternative Rock, Funk, Traditional, and many more.

UNOWHO was founded as a Father/ Daughter duo, but soon grew into the band known widely today. UNOWHO have gone from strength to strength in the last year, growing in numbers to a musically diverse six-member crew. UNOWHO have been playing steadily throughout the region and can be found performing high energy shows at various festivals and venues to fireside sessions in a pub and everything in between, all the while expanding our repertoire and developing our sound.
