BALLYMOTE
HEARTBREAK 2nd year in a row as Ballymote lost Division 3 League final in Cloonacool. Owenmore Gaels were the deserving winners on the day as Ballymote could not recover from 3-3 to 0-2 to Owenmore Gaels in the opening 10 minutes. DURING this time Ballymote lost Oisin Conlon to a Black card. Theses goals were the main feature of the game as Ballymote could not break down Owenmore Gaels defence to reduce the deficit.

CALRY/ST. JOSEPH’S
Our under 12 girls had a very tough loss to Tourlestrane on Friday evening last losing out by 10 points to 9 in a hugely competitive and sporting game at Ballinode.
The young girls fought hard against the table toppers but unfortunately just could not seem to find that elusive one score on night that nothing seems to go right for them .
Their next fixture is at home to Shamrock Gaels on Friday evening next.
The junior team rounded off their “consistent” league campaign with a loss to Drumcliffe in Hazelwood on Saturday evening. Damian Flynn rolled back the years to put in a “Man of the Match” performance knocking over 4 excellent points from play, and lead the way in our ever “youthful” forward line.
The senior team played their Div 2 League Final on Sunday morning in Tourlestrane against Castleconnor.
Unfortunately the lads put in an horrendous first half and went in at the break trailing by 12 pts 2-10 to 0-04.
The management team made some positional changes for the second half and the lads got right back into it.
However they had left just too much to do and unfortunately were unable to break through for that all important goal which would have made such a difference.
We out scored the opposition by 11pts to 005in the second half but even so, it wasn’t enough to stop the title going west.
Final score CSJ 0-15pts Castleconnor 2-15.
Club Lotto draw results:- Jackpot €6,900, numbers drawn 15, 24, 29, 30,- no winner. No match three winners. Promoters prize winner Daveys Shop , Hazelwood.
Next draw is on Wed 8th August 2018 with a Jackpot of €6,950.

ENNISCRONE/ KILGLASS
MINOR
THERE was major disappointment for the Enniscrone-Kilglass/ Easkey minor team last Thursday evening when they were beaten by St Molaise Gaels at Quigabar in the first round of the championship by a point, 3-7 to 3-8. LEADING by five points in the closing stages, the concession of two very poor goals late on resulted in the loss. DESPITE this disappointment, the lads will hope for improvement away to Ballymote/Bunninadden next Thursday at 7pm
U-16
THE Enniscrone-Kilglass/Easkey U-16s got their championship campaign off to a winning start with a 7-17 to 2-7 defeat of Eastern Harps.

Well done to everyone involved on this success.

NAOMH EOIN
WELL done to our U-16 hurlers who brought home our first silverware of the season as they defeated Tourlestrane in a competitive league Shield Final in Scarden last Tuesday evening. Captain Anthony Fidgeon excepted the trophy from Pat Conway of Coiste na nÓg after the 4-9 to 0-8 scoreline proved once again that goals win games.
THE goals came from the impressive Aaron Mulvey, and our captain Anthony Fidgeon, with two from the dynamic Robert O’Kelly-Lynch.
OUR backs did well to repel the attacking prowess of the Tourlestrane forwards with Stephen Mahon in goal making a number of stops and clearances, and Paul Gallagher leading the backline with a dominant performance. Oilean Mulligan, Oisin Davey and Ethan Scully were also impressive, with Scully at centre-back launching a number of attacks with excellent solo runs to clear the lines.
LIAM O’Kelly-Lynch, one of three All ireland U-17 winners with the Sligo Celtic Challenge team was outstanding in midfield along with the hard-working Aaron Mulvey. Cormac Henehan lead the attack with style.
NAOMH Eoin team and scorers: Stephen Mahon; Oilean Mulligan, Paul Gallagher, Brendan Munnelly; Shane Harte, Ethan Scully (0-1f), Oisin Davey; Liam O’Kelly-lynch (0-1), Aaron Mulvey (1-2); Anthony Fidgeon (1-4), Cormac Henehan, Peter Meehan; Jack Redmond-Hughes, Robert O’Kelly-lynch (2-1), James Hargadon. THE senior hurlers made it two wins out of two games with an exciting win away to Easkey last Saturday evening in the Sligo SHC, getting over the line in a very keen;y-contested, exciting game by two points, 3-14 to 2-15. MISSING a number of key players due to injury, work and holidays our youthful senior hurling team performed heroically with a great battling but skilful display of quickfire movement and scoring. Our back line, shorn of county All ireland winners Niall Feehily and Matt Davey, fended off the exertions of a very talented and youthful Easkey team, which made for a pulsating contest of fast-moving hurling.
AT the break Easkey lead by a point, 1-9 to 2-5, with Colm Dolan dispatching our opening goal, following up a rebound from a super run and strike from full forward Tony O’Kelly-lynch in the early stages of the game. ROAN Conneely in his first season at this level scored from close range after another great move involving the O’Kelly-lynch brothers near the end of the half. IN the second half the tit-for-tat scoring continued with dual star Gerard O’Kelly-Lynch scoring four points,
PAUL Kilcoyne firing over three super points from distance, and Niall Rooney coming up from corner back to fire over an inspirational score.
TONY O’Kelly-Lynch also lobbed over two points from play. THE defence was shored up by great displays from the likes of keeper Michael Healy, speedy half-backs Tommy O’Callaghan and Niall Campbell, returning centre-back Cathal Jordan. with Conor McGovern and Kevan Brennan sending over good points from the wings. Donal Fidgeon, however, was probably Man of the Match playing in an unconventional centre-field position he worked his socks off and skilfully set up chances for the forwards throughout. NAOMH Eoin team and scorers: Michael Healy; Niall Rooney (0-1), David Hickey, Ger Leamy; Tommy O’Callaghan (capt.), Cathal Jordan, Niall Campbell; Gerard O’Kelly-Lynch (0-6, 4f,65), Donal Fidgeon; Kevan Brennan (0-1), Paul Kilcoyne (0-4), Roan Conneely (1-0); Conor McGovern (0-1), Tony O’Kelly-Lynch (0-2), Colm Dolan (1-0). Subs: Kieran Donohue, Joe Davey.
THE seniors continue their hurling championship at home to Tubbercurry next weekend at a time to be confirmed.
OUR facebook and twitter sites will have details of fixtures. OUR U-12 team had a good win over Molaise Gaels in the league last week.
ROUND 8 of the league is fixed for next Tuesday at home to Tourlestrane at 7pm. TRAINING for U-10 and U-12 continues at 12 on Saturdays in Kent Park.
OUR minor hurlers began their MHC campaign with a home fixture v Tourlestrane at 7pm on Thursday evening.
