The Sligo Champion

MORE SUCCESS FOR SLIGO IN CONNACHT

-

THERE was more joy for Sligo at the Connaught Community Games recently with some excellent performances.

Carrick-on-Shannon was the venue for the second of the Connaught Community Games Finals for 2018.

There was a large turn out of competitors and supporters to witness what was an exceptional day of top class team sports.

More than 1500 children competed from all five Counties in Connaught and there was a great array of winners from across the province.

Sligo as always were one of the top Counties in relation to gold medal winners. The County was represented in all but two of the team events and many of those teams were narrowly beaten in either semi finals or finals. It proves that Sligo Community Games are up there with the best when it comes to competing. All winning teams are wished the very best of luck at the National Finals in University of Limerick on weekend 18th & 19th August.
