Lively Auction Sales in Sligo by REA McCarrick & Sons
CO. SLIGO Auctioneers and Estate Agents, REA McCarrick & Sons with offices in both Sligo and Tubbercurry produced excellent Auction results over the last few weeks.
A 24 acres Farm at Kilrusheighter, Templeboy attracted good interest and Roger McCarrick said there had been a good few viewings in the week’s prior to Auction. There were in total four bidders at a full Auction house.
The bidding started at €140,000, and went up quickly to €177,000 at which time it went officially on the market. It sold eventually at €240,000 which is €10,000 per acre.
The purchaser is a local dairy farmer. There was over 50 bids in total and Mr. McCarrick indicated that there continues to be good demand for land that is well located and in small or medium sized parcels.
At another Auction of student apartments in Yeats Village, Ballinode, Sligo, agents REA McCarrick & Sons brought 3 apartments to Auction, and there was excellent interest shown in them in the lead up to the Auction.
Interest was from investors who wanted them for long term pension type investments as they are giving a good return in rental income.
They were all 3 bedrooms with 3 ensuites and all were on ground floor. Sold individually, they each opened at €85,000, and sold to 3 different purchasers at €98,000, €107,000 and €112,000.
Mr. McCarrick has indicated there is strong demand for all types of investment or rental properties, and he will welcome discussions with property owners to analyse their options.
