On the Pig’s back
CROWDS thronged the seaside village of Enniscrone at the weekend for the popular Black Pig Festival which had a bumper calendar of events for all the family.
There was live entertainment, carnivals, food stalls, bouncy castles, street ceilís and a big festival atmosphere throughout the event. Festival organisers ran pig races too during the festival and said they followed health and safety guidelines with all the pigs coming from local farms and running for a very short distance on grass.
THERE was an action packed programme of events for the annual Black Pig Festival in the scenic west Sligo seaside village of Enniscrone at the weekend.
The bumper festival had fun for all the family with lots of live music, entertainment, ceilí dances, fireworks display and lots more.
There were markets, bouncy castles, food stalls, sean nós dancing, a funfair, pig racing, children’s disco and street entertainers.
Popular singer Mike Denver opened the festival before performing a brilliant concert later that day in the Diamond Coast hotel.
For those wanting to chill, there was beach yoga in the morning.
People enjoyed scenic walks which took in the beautiful coastal views around Enniscrone too.
There was a fireworks display on the pier and a Black Pig Dance with Michael English in the Diamond Coast with live entertainment in the village too. The final event of the festival was the Black Pig 5k & 10k run which took place yesterday.
