Sentencing adjourned for preparation of Probation Report
A fresh charge of possession of cannabis herb has been preferred against a Ballymote man at Tubbercurry District Court.
Clyde Carroll (21) of Lissoneagh, Lavagh, Ballymote, pleaded guilty to the fresh charge and had already pleaded to drink driving and having no insurance at O’Connell Street on 20 th April 2017, to the unlawful possession of drugs at Carntubber, Tubbercurry on 24 th June 2017 and to being intoxicated in public at Tesco, Wine Street on 20 th January 2018. Ms Laura Spellman, defence solicitor, told Judge Kevin Kilrane at Tubbercurry District Court last Wednesday that Carroll was attending addiction counselling and thought the court had ordered at Probation Report.
However the Probation Services never got the request.
“He does have a serious issue with alcohol,” she added.
Judge Kilrane adjourned sentencing to 26 th September for a fresh Probation Report on the defendant.
