CONGRATULA­TIONS

Congratula­tions and well done to Mila Clancy, who won a silver medal for 60m sprint at all-Ireland Track and Field Athletics in Tullamore recently. Mila represents Sligo in Community Games in Limerick on August 18: BINGO.

Bingo is held every Friday night in Gurteen Hall at 8.30 p.m. The jackpot is now €3,100 on 48 calls – lotto raffle of €1,000 was won last Friday – starts again at €200 – all proceeds are shared between Eastern Harps GAA Club and the hall committee for the upkeep of the hall.

SUMMER SEISIUN – The summer Seisiun show will be Wednesday nights in July and August July 25 – a stage show of Irish music, song and dance. It will feature Ceoltoiri Coleman – with Junior Davey as Fear an Tí.

JUNIOR SESSION – On Saturday nights for July and August there is a Junior Session at 8.30 p.m. organised by Fiona Doherty well known fiddle player and all young musicians, singers and dancers – are very welcome to come along and join in in a relaxed informal setting. CEMETERY MASSES

There will be Mass celebrated in Carrentemp­le Cemetery on Sunday, August 5, at 6 p.m. There will also be Mass celebrated in Templerona­n Cemetery on Sunday, August 5, at 1 p.m.

TIDY TOWNS

Gurteen is in bloom – its great to see how good the village looks with so many hanging baskets, window boxes, the large planner boxes and more – thanks to the combined efforts of home owners, businesses and members of the Tidy Towns Committee.
