Strong demand for Rosses Point home at auction
DNG Flanagan Ford held their most recent property auction last Friday, July 27. The room filled up quickly with bidders who were keen to secure a spacious family home in the heart of Rosses Point village.
The property, which is known as Greenside, had been marketed with a guide price of €330,000. For this, the property offered spacious, bright and open plan living accommodation, plus four bedrooms, bathrooms etc.
The jewel in the crown for this property was the site on which is set. To obtain a house on a double site in this sought after area is very difficult.
The size of the grounds wasn’t the only main attraction with this property, it also enjoys an amazing position, adjacent to County Sligo Championship Golf Links.
Auctioneer Shane Flanagan, who was accompanied by his auction team of Marie McDonald, Tess Monaghan and Jade Bonney, put the property to the floor just after 3pm and he didn’t have to wait long for the first of the bids to start rolling.
Once the bidding commenced at €310,000, the bids started to flow very fast. After a sustained period of bidding, amongst multiple parties, the 16 th and final bid was placed on the property. The gavel fell at the final bid of €425,000, almost €100,000 over the guide price.
Shane commented: “We were always confident of a successful sale for this property; however, as with all auction scenarios you never really know how a sale will go until the auction day arrives. We had a number of interested parties in the room and once the bidding started it didn’t take long for the price to creep up.
“We are delighted to have achieved a price so far in excess of its guide price for our clients. The quality of the house and its grounds really made this property a very attractive prospect and we wish the new owners many years of happiness with this excellent home.”
