ENNISCRONE/KILGLASS GAA

Our Intermediate team get their championship campaign under way next Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. in Tourlestrane against neighbours Castleconnor. Best of luck to the players and management for the upcoming campaign. Please lend your support to the team if at all possible for this local derby next Sunday.

The Enniscrone-Kilglass/ Easkey minor team have a rescheduled league fixture away to Ballymote-Bunninadden next Friday at 7 p.m.

The Enniscrone-Kilglass/Easkey under-16s played out an entertaining draw with Tourlestrane last Monday in the B Championship. They face another away trip on Monday (July 29) when they travel to Shamrock Gaels for a 7 p.m. throw-in.

Our under-14s commence their B Championship campaign on Friday evening with an opening round tie away to Drumcliffe-Rosses Point from 7 p.m.

Our under-12s had a very busy week but unfortunately came out on the losing side in two finals. Despite a gallant effort last Thursday at Scarden, they were beaten (in only their second defeat of the year) by an impressive Geevagh outfit, 0-22 to 0-10, the Division Two Cup final. On Sunday, they participated in the Billy Anderson Cup organised by the Ardnaree Sarsfields club and following wins over Lahardane MacHales and Castleconnor progressed to the decider but fell short against the hosts. Despite these two losses this team and squad has shown very well throughout the year. Well done to all the players and management.

Cúl Camps – A huge thanks to all participants, parents and coaches involved in last week’s massive Cúl Camp at Quigabar. We hope everyone enjoyed themselves.

Mothers and Others blitz – Saturday provided a major highlight of the football year so far following a superbly run Mothers and Others blitz at Quigabar as part of the Enniscrone Black Pig Festival. This was organised by the Enniscrone-Kilglass Mothers and Others group. 11 teams from across Sligo.
