Teddy bears picnic in a forest wonderland

-

OVER €700 was raised at the Teddy Bear Picnic held at the Forest Trail Park in Tubbercurry on Saturday last.

Held as part of the Tubbercurry Old Fair Day festival, which ends today, the €771.30 raised is all for the Paediatric Unit in Sligo University Hospital and wil go towards purchasing parents’ beds.

Over 300 kids found eight different stations set up in the forest walk, which was transformed into a veritable wonderland for the day. As they explored the forest they found face painting, decorating fairy doors, cupcakes, weaving, artists from the Workhouse Arts Studio doing dress up boxes and parades, decorating bags, colouring, slime, hot chocolate and more. And all for the princely sum of €2.

Louise and the team at Lollipop Lane Creche, Montessori & Afterschool organised and sponsored the event, along with a committee and a willing group of volunteers.

Meanwhile, Theresa from The Cake Lodge donated the cupcakes while Nutjob Design, Strandhill provided support with the fairy doors for the magical event taht had a great result.
