Join Friends of Sligo Gaol to mark the 200th anniversar y of Ir eland’s only sur viving polygonal prison, rich in histor y and heritage.

A diverse selection of topics, ranging from the Spike Island Excavations to Dark Tourism, centring on Ir eland’s historic prisons will be discussed by l eading experts in the field of crime and punishment in 19th and 20th centur y Ireland. Speakers include Dr Richard McMahon; Dr Ciara Breathnach; Tim Carey; Dr Geraldine Curtin; Dr Barra O’ Donnabhain; Dr Laura McAtackney & Dr Gillian O’Brien.
