Explore nature with local ranger
You don’t have to wait until Halloween to go exploring bats this year - Heritage Week starts this Saturday and includes a bat walk next Thursday with a local wildlife ranger.
The guided bat walk, ‘Bats and their allies’ will take place in Sligo Town on Thursday 23rd August.
Miriam Crowley from the National Parks and Wildlife Service will start the walk from Stephen Street Carpark, 8pm - 10:30pm.
A guided riverwalk sharing stories and poetry along the Garavogue will take place next Tuesday 21st August from 7 – 8pm.
There will also be a guided walk about a Viking settlement on the Ballisodare River on Sunday 26 th from August 2 – 4pm to mark Water Heritage Day 2018.

Miriam and the Irish Whale and Dolphin Group will also lead a land based watch and education session about whales and dolphins on Saturday 25 th August, 2pm - 5pm.
Park at the Wild Atlantic Way Sign, Lay-by, Mullaghmore Headland, Co. Sligo. Both events are free of charge and no booking is required.
