Ballisodare works to last to late September
Roadworks in the village of Ballisodare which have caused gridlock are set to continue until the end of September according to the County Council.
Works on the overall scheme along the N59 to Ballydrehid Bridge will continue until late September depending on ground and weather conditions and from the end of next week the work will be confined to north of the village.
The works involve resurfacing of approximately 1.9km of the N59 road. Traffic management is in place with traffic reduced to one lane which has caused long delays particularly at peak times.
On Friday last, motorists had to ensure a second stop and go system on the Sligo entrance to the village. The works commenced at the section of road in front of St Mary’s College.
Meanwhile, Roadworks on the N15 between Teesan and Rathcormack, 2Km north of Sligo town, have entered what the council says is the critical stage where the final surface is being applied.
