Funding for good causes
WOODHAVEN Multiple Sclerosis North West Therapy Centre and Hawk’s Well theatre are among four Sligo organisations named as winners in the first ever National Lottery Good Causes Awards. THE Sligo winners are: •SPORT: Coolaney/Mullinabreena GAA. Good Causes funding helped the club rebuild and extend its sports field to allow for expansion. •HEALTH & Well Being: Woodhaven Multiple Sclerosis North West Therapy Centre THE Centre was founded in 1993 to provide vital services to people with MS. Good Causes funding supported the opening of Woodhaven, an accessible and supported holiday facility for those with MS. •HERITAGE: Sligo Field Club GOOD Causes funding has allowed it hold lectures and field walks and to run a programme of events for National Heritage Week. •ARTS & Culture: Hawk’s Well Theatre. With the help of the Good Causes funding the Hawk’s Well has developed a comprehensive Community Arts Participation Programme, giving hundreds of people locally the opportunity to engage with arts activities.
