100TH BIRTHDAY

On Saturday, August 4, history was rewritten when local woman Nora McTiernan celebrated with her family, friends and very dear neighbours her 100th birthday in her home village of Lisdeligna in Killimor Co. Galway.

Nora came into a turbulent world as independence was being sought in her homeland and the world was in the grips of World War one. This celebration was of poignant importance as it was courtesy of a helicopter ride Nora got to see her home village from the air. I wonder what the RAF would have taught of the area 100 years ago. A big Happy Birthday to our centurian.
