STORYBOOK TRAIL

Enniscrone Library invites all of the family to read pages of a picture book that are displayed along the hollow at Enniscrone beach. It starts beside the lifeguard tower. Different books will be displayed here regularly throughout the summer.

BLOTTO DRAW

There was no winner of the €3,800 jackpot when the draw took place in McNulty’s, on Sunday last. Numbers drawn were 12, 22 and 30. €25 winners were Seán Hale, Frank Rouse, Mags Chapman and John Cunningham. The next draw will take place in the Wild Atlantic Inn, on Sunday, August 12, jackpot is €4,000.

EASKEY MONSTER BINGO

This will be held in Diamond Coast Hotel on Sunday, September 9, at 3 p.m. Proceeds in aid of the Jonathan Higgins Fund.

ENNISCRONE/KILGLASS GAA

Our Intermedia­te team got their championsh­ip campaign off to a winning start with a twopoint win over Castleconn­or at Tourlestra­ne last Sunday, 1-10 to 0-11. A Shane Hargadon goal in the first half ensured a 1-6 to 0-6 half-time lead and the lads won out by two in the end. They will meet St Patrick’s in round two on Saturday week, August 18, in Castleconn­or.

The Enniscrone-Kilglass/Easkey minor team received a walkover from Ballymote-Bunninadde­n last Friday. They host Shamrock Gaels on Thursday evening in Quigabar at 7 p.m.

The Enniscrone-Kilglass/Easkey under-16s play Castleconn­or this evening (bank holiday Monday) at 7 p.m. in Quigabar. They beat Shamrock Gaels last week by a single point, 5-7 to 2-15. Under-14.Our under-14s lost out to Drumcliffe-Rosses Point in their first championsh­ip encounter, 7-8 to 3-5, at Oxfield last Friday evening. They play Tourlestra­ne in the second round on Friday week, August 17.

County final – Due to ongoing works at Markievicz Park, it was confirmed recently that the Sligo Senior Football Championsh­ip final will be held at Quigabar on Sunday, October 14, This promises to be a wonderful occasion for the club and area and we look forward to welcoming Gaels from across the county to our grounds for the biggest day in the club calendar.
