PETER DIAMOND R.I.P.

The death has taken place of Peter Diamond, Toberawnau­n, Skreen. Removal of his remains took place from his residence to St Adamnan’s Church for funeral Mass followed by burial in St Mary’s cemetry. Sympathy is extended to his wife, sons, daughters, inlaws, grandchild­ren, nephews, nieces, friends and relations.

WEDDING BELLS

Congratula­tions to Sinéad Cowley, daughter of JP and Margaret, Rathlee and James Kelly, son of William and Kathleen, Laragh, Skreen, who were married in Rathlee Church on Friday, August 3. The reception was held in the Diamond Coast Hotel, Enniscrone.

WELL DONE NIAMH

Well done to Niamh Lang, Easkey Rounders, who was among players from all over Ireland to showcase their sport at a half time exhibition game in Croke Park at the all-Ireland Minor Football semi-final on Saturday last.

ARTS/CRAFTS EXHIBITION

An exhibition of arts and crafts will be held in Easkey Community Centre for July and August. Centre is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Thursday. Weekends by appointmen­t only at 096 49020 or 087 6186866.

MONSTER BINGO

A monster bingo will be held in the Diamond Coast Hotel, Enniscrone on Sunday, September 9, at 3 p.m. in aid of the Jonathon Higgins Go Fund Me.

TRACTOR RUN

The Des Flynn Tractor Run will be held on Sunday, August 19, in aid of the Irish Heart Foundation and Castleconn­or Defibrilla­tor Fund. Registrati­on at the community centre, Castleconn­or from 11.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m.

COASTAL CHALLENGE

The annual Easkey Coastal Challenge, a 42km cycle will take place on Saturday, September 15. Same route as previous years with refreshmen­ts at the Beach Bar, Aughris and at the finish in Easkey Community Centre. Cost of entry is Adult €20 and under-18s are €10. Registrati­on will be on the day of the cycle at Easkey Community Centre from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. with the cycle starting at 10.30 a.m.

LOTTO

There was no winner of the jackpot in the Easkey lotto draw on August 3. Numbers drawn were 10, 27, 29 and 33. €25 winners: J, Ed and R Hogan, Tracey Bowan, William Patterson, Bea Dunphy and Elizabeth Harte. Promoter’s prize: Tony Jones. Next jackpot €2,300 and the draw will take place at the bingo in the community centre at 8.30 on Friday night. 50/50 winner; J, Ed and R Hogan.
