Curry get past Ballymote

-

BALLYMOTE RT CURRY 2-6 0-13

LAST Saturday evening in Bunninadden, Ballymote were defeated by Curry in round two of the Intermediate Championship.

Curry dominated most of the first half but with scores from Mark Irwin Ballymote were keeping in touch with Curry.

Best move of the first half was when Malachy Healy passed a high ball to Adam Cunnane who then found Gerry Brennan.

Brennan showed no nerves as he calmly scored Ballymote first goal.

This came before half time and Ballymote were one point down at the break.

Weather conditions were terrible and rain got heavier in the second half.

Ballymote had a dream start to second half as Paul Mullen dispossessed Curry goalkeeper to score Ballymote second goal.

Despite this Curry went on and scored seven unanswered points and in the closing stages Ballymote finished strongly with points scored from frees by Dylan Martin and Mark Irwin.

Michael Doddy had a shot saved and in the dying moments Ballymote could not get the equalizer.
