Races on this evening
THE second last meeting of Sligo Races is taking place this evening with an exciting 8-card National Hunt fixture in store.
This follows the recent successful 2-day racing festival two weeks ago which included the Ladies Day highlight.
Today’s race meeting is Diageo Day and the first race begins at 4:45pm.
The final race is taking place at 8:50.
The gates will be open from 3pm and people are being advised to come along early for an entertaining evening of races.
The final meeting of the racing year is taking place at the end of September.
This meeting on Thursday, September 27th is the popular Students’ Day.
This is a seven race all National Hunt Card consisting of seven steeplechases.
The first race gets off at 2.15pm.
Gates open at 12 noon. The steeplechasing is made up of beginners and handicaps run over various distances from 2miles 1furlong up to 3 miles.
