Delight in Dooneen as Howley finishes joint first

THERE was celebratio­ns in west Sligo as local showjumper Richard Howley finished in a four-way tie for first place at the Land Rover Puissance at the Dublin Horse Show. Richard, from Dooneen, Enniscrone was aboard CMS Tallulah and two other Irish riders, Padraic Judge and Michael Pender also finished tied at the top along with Brazilian Pedro Junqueira Muylaert. They shared the top prize of €28,400. All four competitor­s cleared the red wall at 2m 20 but finished with 4 faults each in the 5th round. Richard’s parents Paddy and Pauline were thrilled at their son’s success, adding another prize to the many he has won.
