Top marks for Sligo woman in accounting programme
SLIGO resident Aine Tuffy has secured one of the top marks in the country in the Diploma for Accounting Technicians programme this year.
Accounting Technicians Ireland’s qualification is recognised as the fastest pathway to a professional accounting career.
The 58-year-old former bank assistant decided to return to study full-time with the two-year ATI course at MSLETB in Sligo.
She has no doubt that she would not have obtained her new job as an accounts assistant with a local firm without her new qualifications.
“I did a payroll course but I knew that if I had a full accounting technician qualification, I would be certain of a job, and I was right,” she said.
“The full-time course gave me routine and huge support and confidence and I found it really gave me a great foundation.
“It’s a course that is money well spent as you get a great qualifcation that will get you a job and the course more than prepares you for any role within the accountancy sector.”
Accounting Technicians can perform a wide range of finance roles, from accounts staff to financial controller and beyond.
