NEW PROJECT

We are currently working on our new project which will be adjacent to Martin Reilly Motors. This exciting project will present this approach to Carraroe Village as a welcoming and be a pleasure for our residents to experience.

Thanks to the volunteers who have worked quietly over the past number of months to make our area look so well for our residents and visitors. It is nice to hear visitors with experience of Tidy Towns complimenting the area on how it is looking. Anyone willing to become a weekly litter picker please contact any committee member and we will supply picker, gloves, and clear plastic bags. We remind our regular pickers the clear plastic bags can be left at the collection point at Community Centre on Monday evening or early Tuesday morning for collection.

LAKEVIEW GUILD ICA.

Lakeview guild meetings resume again on Tuesday, September 4, at 8 p.m. in Carraroe Community Centre.

The ladies in Lakeview Guild have been very active over the summer months. The members went on their summer outing to Donegal on June 13 and had a fantastic day. We did the tour of Belleek Pottery in the morning and enjoyed our coffee. We went on to Donegal Town for some retail therapy and lunch before heading out into Donegal Bay on the waterbus tour which everyone really enjoyed. We returned to Rossnowlagh and visited the Friary there and then enjoyed a beautiful meal at the Smugglers Creek restaurant. Thanks to all the members for taking part and especially to Maureen Davey, Mary Duffy and Sally Ward for organising this trip.

The guild continued with the Thursday walking group over the summer and enjoyed the trip to Sligo Abbey and Coney Island. The ladies remained busy knitting the jumpers for new born babies in Africa; anyone who did not collect the pattern can contact Anne McCaffery and start knitting. Mary Jones from Aclare Guild represented County Sligo at the regional finals of the Aldi brown bread competition at An Grianan.

The County Sligo Federation committee meeting will held in Carraroe Community Centre next Monday, August 20, at 8 p.m.
