Bunninadden’s charge down to mix of youth and experience

-

WITH two wins from two in this year’s Kennedy’s Intermediate Football Championship Group Two, Bunninadden are raring to go against Castleconnor this Sunday in Tourlestrane.

A young side, John O’Flaherty’s charges battled through group games with St Farnan’s and St Michael’s to qualify for this year’s quarter final.

Steadily building for the future, Bunninadden’s team is peppered with experience but mainly relies on the exuberance of youth.

“I’m just delighted to have made it to the quarter finals and up against a very impressive Castleconnor team”, John says.

“We have a very young team and it is great for them to get the experience of championship football.

“Youth has no inhibitions so I hope they get the chance to express themselves and enjoy the game. After that, we’ll see what happens.”

Bunninadden will look to the likes of Peader McManus, who at 25 is experienced despite it being his first year to skipper the side.

“He is an outstanding corner back and man marker and has been playing on the senior team for eight years”, O’Flaherty says. “This year he is hoping to add another intermediate championship to the one he won in 2012 as well as under 16 and Minor B titles.”
