WOMEN’S GROUP
Coolaney Women’s Group will be resuming Meetings in Coolaney Community Centre next Thursday, September 6, at 10.30 a.m. The interactive classes include activities, occasional days out and professional people to give talks and classes. New members are very welcome. Open to all ages.
COOLANEY ICA NEWS
Welcome back, as we start another year and a busy programme. September 6 at 8 p.m. is our monthly meeting in Coolaney Community Centre. New members are always welcome to attend our classes or join the guild which is now running for over 50 years.
Good wishes to new president Phil Wims, secretary Mary O’Boyle and treasurer Margaret Cunningham.
Mary Conway from Aclare Guild and National Brown Breadmaking Champion 2017 will also attend and give a demonstration. She will be happy to answer all your baking queries. This should be a very interesting night. Please bring your friends along and enjoy a cup of tea and sample the winning bread.
Our sessions of Cookery classes held in 2015 proved very popular and will return by popular demand on four Monday nights, commencing September 17. Hope to see you there.
A financial advisor will speak at the October meeting. This talk will cover all aspects of money management, tax affairs and insurance. A great opportunity, so have your questions prepared.
Keep Fit classes will start on Monday, October 22, and will run for six nights, finishing on November 26.
On November 1 at 8 p.m., Faye Hayden from Sligo Social Services will give a talk on a new project running in Sligo and detail the great work carried out by the organisation.
Our annual ‘ Bag pack for charity’ will take place later in the month, on the November 22, 23 and 24.
GAA CLUB DRAW
Coolaney-Mullinabreena GAA Club have launched their annual Prize Draw for 2018. There are lots of great prizes this year totalling over €2,000 in value, ranging from a top cash prize to great hotel breaks. Tickets are available from senior players, coaches and committee members. All support is appreciated. Draw takes place on Sunday, September 9.

United Wednes- day Night Bonus Ball Draw is to support fundraising efforts for the proposed new Astro Pitch in Coolaney Community park. Each Bonus Ball is €5 with a weekly prize of €100. Bonus balls can be purchased in PK MEATS on Thursday and Fridays and in O’GRADs shop and Pub the rest of the week. Best of luck to all.
JUNIOR YOUTH GROUP
Meetings are every Wednesday evening at 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Coolaney Community Centre for Youths between the ages of 12-15.
FORÓIGE CLUB
The Foróige Club continues each Friday evening at Coolaney Community Centre between 7.30 p.m. and 9 p.m. It is open to all youths aged 13 to 18 years. We are also currently seeking volunteer leaders. For more information contact Mark at 086 0740841 or Brendan 087 3964541.
