LOCAL PRE SCHOOL

SELF DEFENCE CLASS

A once off two-hour Self Defence class will be held in Skreen-Dromard Community Centre on Thursday, September 6, from 7 p.m. This Defence Class is suitable for anyone from 12 years onwards. The cost for adults is €20 and €15 for Youths. Ring Aidan at Krav Maga at 087 6695056 for more details.

The class covers introducti­on to striking, punching, kicking, release from chokes from front and behind, release from wrist grabs, bear hugs, hair pull, shirt grabs and basic knife treats, A great class to learn basic self defence moves for all ages. You are asked to wear loose clothes and bring a drink.

MINI MARATHON

The staff and friends of the North West Hospice wish to thank everyone involved in the recently held Mini Marathon which raised €2,100 for the hospice. Special thanks go to collector Pat Finnegan for his great involvemen­t.

CHURCH GATE COLLECTION

The recently held church gate collection for the Faith and Light Group raised €294.37 for people with special needs. Everyone, who supported in any way is sincerely thanked.

MUSIC CLASSES

Registrati­on for Irish Traditiona­l Music Classes will take place with Tireragh Comhaltas on Friday, September 7 at 7 p.m. in Dromore West Community Centre. Classes include Tin whistle, Fiddle, Flute, Concertina, Keyboard, Drums, Bodhran and others instrument­s. There will also be mixed instrument class for adults if sufficient numbers.
