Rear ended car turning into Yeats’ graveyard

A driver who rear ended an- other car which was turning right into the coffee shop at Drumcliffe graveyard where W.B. Yeats is buried was fined for careless driving and for not having insurance.

The fines were imposed on Florin Munteanu (30) of Mill Road, Millstreet in Cork who was also banned for a year arising out of the crash on September 11 th 2017.

The accident occurred at around 12pm and the other driver, Elaine O’Donnell was stopped waiting to turn right, said Inspector Paul Kilcoyne.

Mr Eddie Henry, solicitor (defending) pleaded that the defendant had insurance cover on another vehicle but not on the van he was driving on the day.

The dad of three had a previous no insurance conviction.
